"Indigo Blues"

Indigo Blues is a tribute to Joie Lee's unforgettable presence as her role of “Indigo” in the Spike Lee joint, Mo' Better Blues (1990). Her aura resonated with me because of her unique encompassment of androgyny, authenticity and artistry, on-screen. Joie Lee is an extraordinary actor, writer & producer and was a major influence during the Spike Lee era which was a pivotal time for black representation in film. She contributed significantly to shaping our creative culture and has created cinematic moments that have become nostalgic memories, reflecting the richness and diversity of the black experience
